The family have a 3 and 9 year old. One goes to nursery and the other is at school.

The hours:

  • Monday: Approx 5.30 pm -7.00 – 8.00 pm (to include nursery / school collection, after school club and supper in a local pub/restaurant, back home, bath and bed)
  • Tuesday: approx  4.15 pm – 7.00 – 8.00 pm (to include nursery/ school collection, football training then back home for supper, bath and bed
  • Wednesday: approx 4.30 pm – 6.00 – 7.00pm (relaxed evening with no activities / clubs)
  • Thursday:  approx 4.30 pm- 6.00 -7.00pm  (to include nursery/ school collection, swimming club then back home bath and bed)
  • Friday:approx 4/5pm – 5/6pm  (relaxed evening with no activities / clubs)

If the parents are having to work in London or abroad, there will be times when the Mothers Help will need to stay a bit longer (7-8pm). It can vary however, sometimes  2 – 3 days a week, sometimes none- flexibility is therefore paramount.

If the Mothers Help requires more hours each week then this is a possibility, but the role will then include a bit of light housekeeping, cooking, shopping and ironing to make up the hours.

This is ideally a self-employed position and would suit someone who is nice, local. and flexible.  School holiday hours will be different as the family tend to travel abroad to visit relatives. Someone looking to have school holidays off would be preferred although the family are happy to try and work something out if needs be.

The successful person will need to drive,  have a clean licence and be happy using their own car.  Mileage will be covered.

Part Time Pool Maintenance person required for a busy private hire pool based in White Colne, Essex. The Pool Maintenance position can be worked alongside the 2 day’s a week Groundsperson position, or they can be two separate positions.

Live In Couple – (Gardener/ Handyperson & Housekeeper), Bures, Essex – JF/SP1645

We are looking for a couple to work together within a beautiful, private, country house located in rural Essex two miles from the village of Bures. This will be a part time role for both the housekeeper and gardener with accommodation included in the form of a 2-bed cottage within the grounds. The couple should want to live in an unspoilt rural location.

This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced couple looking to work part time and would ideally suit a retired or semi-retired couple.  It would also be an opportunity for a couple who could find extra work in the area to make up their hours. Previous housekeeping and gardening/handyperson experience is required. The ideal couple will be friendly, sociable, trustworthy, loyal and hard working.

The house is owned by a retired couple who have dogs, horses and some sheep. The garden is roughly 1.5 – 2 acres and consists of borders, hedges, formal lawns with a large ornamental pond.

The hours would be 6 hours per week housekeeping and 16 hours per week split over 4 days for the gardener/ handyperson.

Housekeeper:

  • General housework/ cleaning throughout the 5 bedroom and 3 bathrooms house.
  • Occasional Ironing
  • Polishing

Gardener/ Handyperson:

  • All gardening duties, including hedge cutting and strimming
  • Some gardening knowledge an advantage in this lovely established garden
  • Handyperson duties around the farm such as fixing fences, minor repairs and general upkeep of the house, gardens and outbuildings

Ad hoc duties:

  • Checking the horses and sheep and generally looking after the house when the couple are away
  • Maintaining the cottage and garden that comes with it
  • Assisting the owners of the property with outdoor and indoor jobs as and when required

Accommodation:

The use of a two-bed centrally heated cottage is included in the position. The cottage will be un-furnished. Rent, Council tax and water are included in the package; but not oil or electricity. The cottage has a good garden which you will be expected to maintain. There is the use of a large shed for storage and use as a garage and separate lockable shed.

The successful person must be happy working alone, and not mind working in all weathers.

We are looking for one, possibly two wonderful Sales Assistants to help on the lovely Hicks and Brown trade stand at Badminton Horse Trials this May 2024.

Dates:

  •  Tuesday 7th May (set up) through to Sunday 12th May.

We are ideally looking for someone who can do all of the dates although any help from Thursday/Friday onwards would be great too.

Retail experience would be preferred or a front of house/customer facing background as an alternative.

The person must be well presented, warm and bubbly with a lovely way about them. This role would suit someone who loves fashion and is competent helping customers and taking payments.

The role:

  • Setting up the trade stand before the event
  • Selling during the show
  • Stocking up
  • Tidying of the stand and breaking down at the end
  • Representing the brand to the highest level

Full Time experienced competition groom required for small family eventing yard competing at a high level both home and abroad.  The yard is located close to Cambridge with easy access from the A14.  5 days a week which will include weekends during the eventing season.   • Working alongside other competition grooms providing first class care for 9 event horses

  • Preparing horses for competition -plaiting, clipping, trimming, mane/tail pulling etc to exceptional standard.
  • Exercising fit event horses – hacking and warming up for rider
  • Preparing horses and lorry for travel
  • Grooming at events – tacking up, studding up, washing off and cooling off- being highly organised and efficient
  • Keeping yard, tack room etc in a clean, tidy and safe condition at all times
  • Travelling to events both UK and abroad.

The Person:-

  • Reliable, punctual with a really good work ethic
  • A good team player with an easy to get along with personality
  • A good confident rider who is happy to hack competition horses
  • Must have excellent turn out skills-clipping, plaiting etc
  • A lorry driver with HGV would be preferred

This lovely lady is struggling with her memory ( short term ), however she is fit, active and requires no personal care at all. She is very neat and tidy around the house and still cooks and shops for herself.

Someone kind with a really nice easy to get along with personality who is patient and caring with the time to sit and have a cup of tea and a chat.

Ideally the successful person will be able to go to the lady’s home 3 mornings a week for approx 2/3 hours a time and maybe go out for a walk or attend various appointments-hairdressers etc.
