Motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales Assistant required to join a well established and close knit team. The person will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment in the equine sector.

Hours:

  • 40 hours a week

Days:

  • Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm
  • Saturday morning 9am-1pm (1 in 3 Saturdays off)
  • When a Saturday is worked, a half day is given during the week

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and assist them in finding products or answering their questions
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and resolving any issues
  • Maintain a clean and organised sales floor, including restocking shelves and arranging merchandise displays
  • Operate the cash register and handle financial transactions accurately
  • Promote sales by demonstrating product features and benefits to customers
  • Upsell additional products or services to increase sales revenue
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and targets
  • Stay up-to-date with product knowledge and industry trends to provide accurate information to customers

The Person:

  •  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Polite, professional and well presented
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Previous retail sales experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends on a rota system
