The Royal Household are looking to recruit a Chauffeur – Head of Operations to be based at The Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace.

As Head Chauffeur you will lead an exceptional team of professional chauffeurs and oversee vehicle operations in support of events and day to day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- With responsibility of the Garage, you will have oversight of vehicle maintenance and presentation, record keeping, equipment usage and health and safety standards
- Managing the Chauffeur team, you will support their recruitment, training, coaching and performance to ensure the delivery of an exceptional service
- Liaising with colleagues, you will prepare plans and rosters to ensure appropriate levels of support as well as co-ordinating transport requests
- You will support advance route planning activities, working with other colleagues and agencies.
Essential Criteria:
- You will be an experienced Manager used to taking a hands-on approach in a similar context
- An assured driver with significant professional driving experience, you will hold a full Cat B and D1 clean, UK driving licence
- Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skillsĀ essential with the ability to handle competing priorities while maintaining a professional service
- An outstanding team player, who can build good working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
- You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and you will be used to liaising and interacting with people at all levels
The successful candidate can benefit from on-site accommodation and will travel for up to six weeks of the year within the UK, including occasional international trips.
