Head Housekeeper (accommodation available) – Norfolk RR1706

The person must be a very experienced, meticulous and hands on housekeeper who has worked in a similar setting previously.

The role will entail:

• Managing all cleaning, polishing, dusting, vacuuming, mopping etc and the willingness to undertake these duties on a regular basis.
• Organise and adhere to a clear annual calendar for deep cleaning work and general cleaning regime and avoid clashes with the family and visitors.
• Maintenance and management of all cleaning supplies, equipment, food & beverage, amenities, and systems (e.g. boiler, water softener)
• Training and supervising other housekeepers within the household team, ensuring supervision of any visitors and contractors.
• Working closely with the House Manager to ensure the smooth running of the household to very high standards at all times.
• Upholding strict confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of the role, respecting the privacy and security of the family.
• Demonstrating a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to household issues that may arise, being understanding of the family and always considering their needs.
• All laundry care, including experience caring for a range of garments and clothing.
• Experience of caring for specialist items e.g. furniture and breakables, maintaining logs of items and handling breakages.
• Changing linen and making beds as per the schedule of the home.
• Supporting with the running of the budget for the property.

The ideal person will have a good work ethic and a ‘can do’ attitude, be easy to get along with and be able to manage the overall upkeep of a large country house. Must be used to high standard cleaning and understand the demands of working within a family environment with pets.

Accommodation is offered for those that want to live in, however, if the candidate lives locally, the role can be live out. Please note, due to the location of the role, all candidates will need to drive and own their own car.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with exceptional organisational abilities and is able to think on their feet in a dynamic household. The family plans do change within a moment’s notice, so every day won’t be the same.

Hours:

• This is a full time, 40 hour a week, permanent position.
• Occasional weekends and evening flexibility will be required and agreed in advance.
