Venue Manager (Private Estate)- Nr Shotesham, Norfolk – RR1775
Position Available
A rare and exciting opportunity to join the events management team on a beautiful private Norfolk Estate. The estate currently runs weddings, private parties, and charity events. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing operations and developing a strategic plan to diversify event offerings and grow bookings. The ideal candidate will work directly with the owners and events team, liaise with external suppliers, and engage with both existing and potential clients. Event management and some marketing experience is essential.
Key Roles Include:
- Overseeing the operation of the venue: Ensure that the venue is running smoothly and efficiently. This involves a combination of front-of-house and behind-the-scenes work. To be an effective venue manager, you require a thorough understanding of all aspects of the venue’s operations and strong interpersonal skills.
- Managing bookings: Handling enquiries, maintaining a bookings calendar, and dealing with changes and cancellations. Having an excellent understanding of the venue’s capabilities and a high level of organisation can be essential because customers often make bookings months or even years in advance.
- Health and safety: Ensuring that a venue is compliant with health and safety legislation is a vital responsibility of the venue manager. This includes arranging or carrying out risk assessments, routine safety testing, maintaining health and safety records, and ensuring the proper training of all staff. You may also investigate any incidents on the premises and take steps to ensure that they don’t happen again.
- Arranging maintenance and repairs: Proactively arranging routine maintenance and ad hoc repairs to the venue and equipment.
- Strategizing: Working with the owners to plan and implement strategies to stimulate income generation and efficiency. This may involve, for example, developing marketing plans, identifying new business opportunities and introducing cost-saving measures. You may also devise strategies to reach new audiences or expand the venue’s offering.
Hours: Full time. Weekend work will be required. Competitive Salary.
We are asking all those interested to provide a PDF overview of the events they have created, run and managed from start to finish. Any information about the number of attendees etc would be beneficial.
