Part-time Gardener / Handyperson , Bishops Stortford, Essex. REF JF1804

An active, practical and reliable person required twice weekly to take care of and maintain the inside and outside of a property in a stunning rural location on the Essex  / Hertfordshire border, approx. 9 miles from both Bishops Stortford and Saffron Walden.  This would suit a proactive and self-sufficient person who sees what must be done and takes action.

The country house is surrounded by a garden and 30 acres,( used by local farmer for sheep) and the owners need regular part-time help to maintain the property inside and out. At present they do not have any help with the garden or house, so this is a new position to make life easier for them.

Hours:  2 hours twice weekly (preferably 1-3pm)

Salary:  £18 per hour

The role will include:

• General gardening including helping with mowing the lawns, weeding, pruning, hedgecutting and general tidying
• Use and care of large garden machinery
• Chopping and stacking logs for the fires
• Cleaning windows inside and outside
• Changing light bulbs and other small maintenance jobs as required
• Cleaning and laying the fires inside the house
• Checking all is well on each visit

The Person will be:

• Reliable, polite with a really good work ethic
• Experienced with garden machinery
• Able to show basic horticultural knowledge
• Happy to carry out window cleaning and other general household maintenance tasks
• A car driver with own transport
• Physically fit and active
