
Part Time Housekeeper -Nr Overstrand, Norfolk- RR1781

We are looking for a wonderful part time Housekeeper to help support a lovely family in Norfolk.
Hours: 20 hours per week – Thursday and Friday 8am-4pm and a Sunday 8am-12 midday.
Overall job purpose:
The role of the Housekeeper is to provide a pro-active, consistent general housekeeping service to the family.
The following is intended to provide guidance as to duties but it is not exhaustive.
- Ensure that the Hall is tidy and organised at all times.
- Work alongside other part-time cleaners, assisting with deep cleans from time to time.
- Help with laundry, ironing and bed linen changes for the household, when they are at home.
- Basic cooking if required
- Ensure that you always remain aware and alert to the family’s needs, responding to those needs in a timely, polite and efficient manner, even when busy.
- To always work with the utmost discretion and sensitivity with regards to the family and their guests.
- To ensure that the house is ready for any events or entertaining, including preparing guest bedrooms, if required.
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher and emptying the bins.
- To be flexible and responsive to support other members of the Estate team, so that a high level of service is consistently delivered, and they operate as one team.
- Identify and alert house owner of any maintenance issues arising concerning fixtures and fittings in the Hall.
- Replenish log baskets and lay fires, as required.
- To walk and feed the dogs, as required.
- Possibly feed the chickens and let them out on arrival as required.
- To undertake any other relevant activities or errands which fall under the general scope of this role.
Personal Qualities
- Possess previous housekeeping experience, ideally in a private household.
- Be friendly, reliable, hardworking, discrete and trustworthy.
- Be flexible, energetic and pro-active.
- Be able to work as a team player as well as a stand alone employee
- Be good at taking direction but also able to work under your own initiative and solve problems.
- Have a genuine commitment to work to the highest possible standards with excellent attention to detail.
- Have a positive attitude and an ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Have the right to live and work in the UK
- Possess a full, clean UK driving licence and ideally have their own car (due to the rural location of family home)
- Be a non-smoker.
Other
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a DBS check and will need to have excellent previous employment references before starting.
Weekend and bank holiday working will be required.
Package: competitive annual salary on an employed basis.
