Driver/Handyperson, Newmarket Suffolk. REF JF1788

Full Time experienced Driver/Handyperson required to work for the Principals of a large country estate located close to Newmarket.

This is a Monday to Friday position, however the successful person must be flexible, as there will be times when meetings in London run into the evening meaning a late finish. Airport runs which take place over a weekend or bank holiday will also be required at times.

Previous private household experience is essential and the ideal person will have driven for a family recently.

We are looking for a polite, well presented and easy to get along with person.

The Position (Driving):

• Driving for the Principals and their family
• Airport runs
• Cleaning the cars
• Driving a variety of luxury vehicles and also farm vehicles
• Organising servicing of the vehicles and making sure tax and MOT are kept up to date
• Keeping the vehicles fuelled and ready for use

The Position ( Handyperson):

• Carrying out minor DIY tasks around the estate
• Keeping on top of rental property repairs – checking to see what tradespeople need to be called
• Changing light bulbs and keeping tenanted properties tidy and safe
• Keeping the main house supplied with logs and replacing light bulbs etc

The Person will be:

• Polite, well presented and personable
• Local to the property (within half an hour)
• A safe, confident driver with a full, clean UK driving licence)
• Experienced with driving in London and in the Suffolk countryside and surrounding areas.
• A non smoker
• Physically fit
• Experienced with basic DIY
• Happy to turn their hands to a variety of tasks throughout the day/week.

A good annual salary will be offered to the successful person who can provide fully checkable references.
