Full Time Rider/Groom, Ware, Hertfordshire. REF JF1812

Full Time experienced Rider/Groom required for small, family competition yard with a maximum of 4/5 horses located in rural location approx 10 miles North of Ware, Hertfordshire.

This is a position for a good, confident rider who is capable of riding horses at various stages of their career. The successful person must be experienced with getting horses fit for eventing and maintaining the fitness regime throughout the year. This would included hacking, school work and fast work when required. Lunging and long reining experience would be preferred too.

This can be live out, if local or accommodation could be available if required for the right person.

There is another full time groom employed, so this is not an isolated position.

The Position:

• Exercising competition horses – hacking, fast work and schooling
• Turning horses out for competition – clipping, plaiting, trimming etc
• All yard duties to a high standard
• Ensuring horses welfare is always a priority
• Warming up for rider
• Preparing horses and lorry for travel-bandaging etc

The Person:

• Reliable, enthusiastic, friendly and trustworthy
• A good team player with an excellent work ethic
• A skilled rider with a proven track record of riding competition horses
• Will have excellent turn out skills
• Able to provide the best care possible
• A lorry driver would be preferred ( HGV and 3.5T)
• A car driver
• Will have a genuine love and interest of competition horses
