Gardener, Hassocks, East Sussex. REF JF1816

Part Time very experienced Gardener required for private country house located 2 miles from Burgess Hill and 10 miles north of Brighton.

The established gardens cover several acres and will require a gardener with horticultural qualifications or with extensive horticultural experience.

The gardener will be required to work 2 full days a week ( 16 hours ). Days to be agreed. There is the potential for extra hours for the right person.

Reliability, enthusiasm and a genuine love of gardening in all weathers.

The Position:

• All general gardening to a high standard-weeding, pruning, restocking, cutting back, spraying, mulching and digging over
• Maintenance of cut box and yew hedging
• Vegetable growing
• Formal border care and maintenance
• Lawn care
• Fruit tree pruning
• Chopping logs for the house
• General tidying, maintenance and handyman duties around the grounds
• Occasional driving for the family may be required but not essential

The Person:

• Reliable, punctual with an excellent work ethic
• Polite, friendly with an easy to get along with personality
• Passionate with a genuine love of gardening
• Horticulturally qualified or will have an extensive knowledge of plants
• A car driver with own transport
• Someone who can carry out maintenance and handyman duties
• Physically fit as some heavy lifting may be required
• Previous employed gardening positions
• Within 30 minutes of the property
