
Housekeeping/Conservation Assistant- Nr Fakenham, Norfolk- RR1862
Position Filled
Wonderful and meticulous Housekeeper required with previous experience working in a large, stately home.
Hours: Part-time or full time hours available – Monday to Friday with the flexibility of weekend and evening work.
As a Housekeeping/Conservation Assistant, you’ll be working within a small, developing team in an incredible place, helping with the day-to-day cleaning and care of the property and its contents. This is an exciting opportunity for someone that is looking to start a career working for high-end private households and/or has a keen interest in history and historic properties. Training will be provided. Additionally, we would like to develop the role further in the future, to include assisting at special events held at the property, this will include further training in high-end service.
Duties and responsibilities (but are not limited to):
- Cleaning and arranging guest rooms.
- Changing bedding and linen.
- Stocking and maintaining an inventory of housekeeping supplies.
- Dusting furniture or fixtures and polishing them.
- Scrubbing and sanitising showers, bathtubs, toilets, countertops and sinks.
- Vacuuming and cleaning carpets, doormats, floors and rugs.
- Reporting breakages, damages and safety issues for repairs.
- The conservation of valuable items.
- Laundry and ironing duties.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Understanding of the approach required when working with fragile historic collections as well as Health & Safety and emergency procedures.
- Housekeeping/cleaning experience is beneficial.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- A willingness to undertake continuing professional development, personal skills development and have an enthusiasm to learn.
- A strong team player with a good work ethic.
- Flexibility in his/her schedule. Occasional weekends and evenings.
- Must possess the ability to always maintain a high level of strict confidence and professionalism.
- Reliable, trustworthy and responsible.
- Child friendly and pet friendly.
- Willing to be DBS checked.
