Job Description.
Part Time experienced housekeeper/cook required for country house 5 miles south of Norwich, Norfolk, Someone who can keep the house clean, comfortable and presentable for the people in residence and the many visitors who pass through it . It also involves laundry and ironing for two people, and cooking too, as well as occasional lunches or dinners for groups. The house is a cheerful and welcoming space and shares a site with the Diocese’s offices, so the housekeeper will feel part of a wider team and have the support of colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of bedrooms, drawing and dining room and hallway
- Ensure all surfaces are dusted, vacuumed, and mopped as necessary.
- Change bed linens and towels, ensuring they are fresh and well-presented.
- Laundry duties , including washing, drying, and ironing.
- Some cooking, including occasional lunches and dinners for groups.
- Shopping for food and cleaning products.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the property manager.
Skills
- Previous experience in domestic housekeeping is highly desirable.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently
- Cooking skills for preparing simple meals when required.
- Good time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently within designated timeframes
- A friendly and engaging personality.
Expected hours: 25 per week – Monday to Friday
Car driver with own transport required and non smoker only
