
Landscape Design Project Manager, Bures, Essex – SP1740

A leading Landscaping and Construction company based in the beautiful Essex countryside are looking for a Project Manager to become part of their well established team. This will be an office based position with regular site visits to manage and oversee commercial and domestic projects.
The successful applicant will be monitoring and organising staff and communicating with office colleagues on a regular basis, ensuring maximum efficiency and profitability. We are looking for someone with extensive landscaping/ construction experience with an eye for detail and passion to get projects over the line and in budget. This is a full time employed position with occasional weekend/ overtime work.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee commercial and domestic projects in line with Company procedures
- Meeting financial targets for each project, reporting any concerns immediately to the
Commercial Manager or Director - Programming works – always keeping this updated, with proactive communication to the team
on the ground and office - Organise staff on sites to achieve maximum efficiency and profitability whilst not compromising
standard of work - Organise and oversee Sub-contractors on both commercial and domestic sites
- Report to Commercial Manager on a regular basis with individual status of jobs and highlight
any issues before they compromise the projects - Organisation of maintenance schedules and dedicated teams
- Meet with Team Leaders on site and report action points and issues
- Sourcing and ordering of materials for projects within budget via communications with the
office team - Monitor Health & Safety on site and address / report issues to the commercial manage
- Management of machinery movements and allocation to sites as well as vehicle/ trailer allocation
- Diary and email inbox management
- Assist with the recruiting of new staff members and carrying out staff appraisals
Knowledge and Experience:
- Excellent communicator on all levels
- Principles of Horticulture Relevant experience / Qualifications in landscaping
- Understanding of Landscape Construction
- Advanced knowledge of H&S requirements
- Contract Manager Experience
- Advanced knowledge of project budgets
- Laying of all types of paving and setts and stone Blockwork and Brickwork, retaining walls
- Setting up site levels
- Decking
- Shrub and tree planting turfing and seeding
- Fencing
- Non-specialist tree work
A competitive salary of between £44,000 – £46,000 will be offered dependent on experience.
