Estate Manager/Cattleperson. Salisbury, Wiltshire. JF1925

Full Time Estate Manager with cattle experience required for private estate located approx 8 miles north of Salisbury, Wiltshire.

The estate is home to a herd of 15 pedigree Limousin cattle and this will be one of the new Estate Manager’s most important responsibilities to care for these animals to the very best standard.  Previous experience working with cattle is essential.

This position is offered with a 4 bedroom family home, so children and a well behaved pet would be welcome.

This could also be a Couple position as it would be great for the partner to work part time on the estate, so they feel they have involvement. 

The estate comprises a the family home built in the very early 19th century, set in 60 acres of parkland within the stunning Wiltshire countryside.

Within the parkland there is a sculpture park which has to be well maintained at all times as this is on view to visitors.

The Position:

• Being responsible for the care and welfare of 15 pedigree Limousin cattle
• Carrying out maintenance within the house, outbuildings etc
• Keeping fencing, gateways, paths and drives in good, safe order
• Managing vehicle maintenance
• Being responsible for security of the estate and house
• Taking care of the woodland
• Keeping grounds in safe and tidy condition
• Managing a small team of staff

• Reliable, trustworthy and enthusiastic
• Calm, personable and easy to get along with
• An experienced cattleperson
• A great team player with the ability to advise and help others
• Experienced with the use and maintenance of large garden machinery
• Experienced with the maintenance of woodland, parkland and fencing
• Will be looking for a long term position
• Will be happy to work weekends on a rota basis
• Car driver with full UK licence
• Non smoker
