A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a well-established, family-run, free range egg packing business with a strong reputation for quality and high welfare standards. This full-time role offers a clear progression path to Team Leader, supporting the Packhouse Supervisor and working within a small, friendly team.

Packing close to 1.5 million eggs per month for both supermarket and wholesale clients, the business operates from a smart, purpose-built, British Lion Quality Assured packhouse in a fast-paced but supportive environment.

We are looking for an additional Packhouse assistant who has the potential, with support and training, to be a team leader and full-time number 2 to the Farm’s Packhouse supervisor. This would suit a real positive candidate with a ‘can-do’ attitude who thrives in a fast-paced working environment – everything else can be taught!

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Work within, support and lead a team of 4–5 during batch grading operations, ensuring that orders are packed correctly (training provided where necessary).
  • Set up, operate, and clean the egg grader as required.
  • Plan batches of ungraded eggs to fulfil customer orders with accurate packaging and labelling (right packaging – right customer).
  • Utilise computerised ordering system to retrieve customer orders.
  • Record and maintain traceability and quality control data.
  • Assist with picking orders to meet customer requirements and upload completed orders to the Farm’s order portal for invoicing.
  • Food Hygiene and other required training will be provided.

The Person:

  • Positive, proactive, and reliable with a calm approach.
  • Eager to learn and take on responsibility – leadership experience would be preferred but is not essential.
  • Comfortable working in a physical, hands-on environment and therefore must be physically fit.
  • Observant and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task under time pressure.
  • Must have own transport due to rural location.
  • Will need to be trustworthy and exhibit the 5 core Farm values in their work: Passionate – Innovative – Adaptable – Collaborative and Respectful.

The Package:

  • £14.00–£14.50 per hour depending on experience, with scope to progress.
  • Monday to Friday, 6:30am–3:30pm schedule (with breaks and occasional overtime).
  • Casual dress and a relaxed yet professional and fast paced working atmosphere.
  • Pension scheme and free on-site parking.
  • Full training provided, including Food Hygiene.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an affable nature and a hands-on approach, looking to grow within a dedicated and successful team.
