Full Time/Part Time experienced gardener/Groundsperson – Witham Essex REF 619 – FILLED

Experienced Gardener/Groundsperson required for family business and home located near Witham, Essex.

The ideal person will be reliable and have a good knowledge of plants including identification to assist with formal gardens and other areas. Horticultural qualifications would be a bonus but not a deal breaker.

Car driver with own transport essential as the work is split between locations and will involve travelling to the main residence and business premises.

The grounds at home extend to approx 5 acres and include lawns, woodland, hedging, herbaceous beds, terrace, river frontage, vegetable garden and gravelled yard.

There are also stables with 8 acres of paddocks.

This position will be full time during the Spring/Summer and then go to 3 days per week over winter.

Work will include a lot of tractor mowing at all sites, strimming, hedge cutting, weeding, watering etc and also some paddock maintenance.

Planting and restocking of the borders and vegetable garden also required.

Someone with a good all round knowledge who genuinely loves to see the grounds looking great at all times. Must be happy working outside and understand the seasons with regard to growing etc.

A practical, physically fit person who would be able to carry out odd jobs around the property and general maintenance tasks. Chopping logs for the house, sweeping areas around the properties and generally keeping on top of tidyness.
