Full Time Yard Foreman required for an award winning Landscape and Construction business located near Bures, approx 5 miles south of Sudbury, Suffolk.
We are looking for a reliable, conscientious person to join this established team, where you will be mainly yard based, although site work may be necessary at times. You will be mechanically confident and competent servicing plant machinery.
The hours will be 7.30am to 4pm – Monday to Friday
The salary will be £28,500 – £30,500 depending on experience
You will have:-
- Good mechanical knowledge, specifically plant machinery and/or small equipment
- Awareness of H & S requirements for machinery/equipment ( eg.Loler)
- Role specific qualification or experience
- Knowledge of construction materials
- Previous experience in a yard environment advantageous
- Knowledge of vehicles
You will be:
- Organised, tidy, thorough and pay attention to detail
- Able to think rationally and problem solve
- Good with time management and an excellent communicator
- Knowledgeable of basic construction materials
- Mechanically confident, competent servicing and using plant machinery
- Pro-active with a can do attitude and have the ability to action change if needed
- Able to tow and possess a towing licence.
- Skilled in IT including Outlook and Microsoft Office
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a tidy, organised yard which is safe and secure
- Seeing in deliveries, checking all is correct
- Loading and unloading vans
- Operating forklift, Avants and other machinery
- Manual handling and lifting
- Maintaining systems to keep track of equipment in/out of the yard
