Assistant Quantity Surveyor with relevant Construction or Quantity Surveying experience required to join our clients successful and expanding Norfolk / Suffolk based Scaffolding firm. The person must have as a minimum or be working towards a BTEC, HNC/HNC in a construction or quantity surveying-based course.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing several commercial processes for the companies live projects. Full training, guidance and support will be given with the key requirements of the role being a positive attitude, attention to detail and a willingness to learn. An opportunity to progress into further education will be offered following completion of a satisfactory probation period.

Hours:

  • 45 hours a week
  • Monday – Friday
  • 7.30am – 4.30pm
  • No weekends

The role will involve:

  • Supporting the Head of Commercial with all commercial duties.
  • Reconciling contract accounts.
  • Monthly site visits and preparation of applications for payment and invoices.
  • Tracing and reporting on applications/invoices in accordance with company processes.
  • Recovering aged debt from Clients.
  • Pricing variation requests from the client and submitting costings for client approval.
  • Administering change management.
  • Attending internal and external meetings as required.
  • Processing weekly subcontract payments, processing invoices and job costing all expenditure.
  • Expressing Company values and best practice in every aspect of the role

The ideal person will require:

  • Construction qualification or be working towards one. CSCS Card is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Commercial and contractual awareness.
  • A level of technical understanding.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel.
  • A clean driving licence is essential.
