Head Housekeeper, Perthshire/Inverness-shire Scotland JB1931

Head Housekeeper required for beautiful country estate located not too far from Aviemore and Pitlochry.

We are looking for a very experienced housekeeper who can manage the estate properties to the highest standard.

The properties comprise the main lodge, chapel and amazing holiday rental properties around the estate. These will always be in a state of preparation for occupancy, allowing for family/guests to arrive at short notice.

The housekeeper’s role is to manage, supervise, train and work alongside the housekeeping staff, ensuring correct standards and practices are maintained. There are currently 3 people in the team, however between August and October seasonal housekeepers and butlers are brought in to assist. The successful person will be able to develop a well-ordered routine for daily tasks during family visits, and an in-depth program to include specific tasks when the house(s) are unoccupied. Keeping the teams busy and motivated at all times, some days/weeks will be extremely busy and other times less so during periods of non-occupation.

This is a very practical, hands on position, definitely not for someone who wants to lead from a desk!

The hours will be           Off Peak.         Monday to Friday.         08.30 to 16.30

                                       Peak Times.    Whatever hours are required to fulfil the criteria of the position.            Weekends will always be worked during peak times

This role offers a variety of tasks which will include but not be limited to the following:

• All housework to an exceptional standard, including linen changing and remaking beds
• Presenting rooms to the highest standard
• Helping on occasions with unpacking and repacking luggage for the principal
• Checking rooms, lodges to make sure everything is in good working order, turn heating and lights on/off
• Clean and re-lay fires
• Laundry and ironing including some handwashing
• Catering for small parties – a Chef will be called in for larger numbers
• Driving for the family, shopping and errands
• Table service
• Assisting with recruiting seasonal staff
• Keeping the dog area clean including bedding and feeding bowls etc
• General cleaning-windows, fridges, wooden floors, polished floors, furniture, carpets and rugs. Specialist cleaning can be arranged with the principal’s approval.

The successful person will be offered a generous salary and a spacious 3 bedroom house, set in it’s own grounds with spectacular views of the loch. The property is provided rent free and all utilities are included. There is a triple garage and kennels.  Car driver with full, clean UK licence essential. Use of an estate vehicle is available for work purposes.

A discretionary bonus will be paid annually.
