Full Time (one week on / one week off ) Live In Housekeeper/Companion/Carer required to assist a lovely lady with day to day organisation and activities. This position will be shared with the current lady who will change to one week on/one week off too.

Our client lives with dementia and Parkinson’s, therefore  her memory is not so good now so the successful person must be organised and preferably have an understanding of the help required for people with this health condition, to make sure she can remain in her own home.

No personal care is required however the client is quite compromised with her mobility, but still has a great love of the outdoors, and enjoys walking her terrier, with company and visiting garden centres etc. Her children do not live locally but visit weekly and she has a wider family who do live locally.

The ideal person must be, caring, trustworthy, with patience and kindness in abundance. Our client would not appreciate fussiness and over familiarity, however a good sense of humour would be very welcome.

Someone within an easy commute would be preferred, so they can return to their own home on their week off.

The Housekeeper will be required to:

  • Keep the farmhouse clean and tidy at all times-housework, laundry and ironing
  • Changing beds
  • General tidying
  • Food shopping on occasions
  • Basic cooking/food prep
  • Managing client’s medication
  • Dog walking and feeding when client away

The Person:

  • Reliable, trustworthy, kind and patient
  • Will have an understanding of helping someone with dementia
  • Physically fit
  • Positive, relaxed with good attention to detail especially cleanliness
  • Practical with the ability to be self motivated and self directed
  • Country loving person, possibly with a farming background
  • Patient and kind with a good sense of humour.
  • Car driver with full UK licence
  • Non smoker
