A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a friendly, capable and experienced full-time live-out nanny to join a welcoming and busy household located near the beautiful village of Higham, between Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket, in Suffolk.

This position is becoming available due to the current nanny of two years moving on. The family are looking for a kind, confident and highly organised individual to take over this important role.

Hours & days of work:

  • Full-time | Monday–Friday, 7.30am–6.00pm
  • Adjusted hours during school holidays

Main responsibilities:

  • Care of 5 delightful children (8-year-old, 6-year-old, twins aged 5, and a 21-month-old)
  • Sole charge each day as both parents work full-time
  • School runs (shared with parents)
  • Cooking healthy, nutritious and child-friendly meals
  • Helping with homework
  • Organising fun, age-appropriate activities
  • Keeping the children’s areas clean, tidy, and well-organised
  • Overseeing children’s laundry and putting clothes away neatly
  • Occasional travel during family holidays
  • 1-2 overnight stays per month (usually Thursdays) + occasional babysitting as and when agreed

Additional Info:

  • The family have a cleaner who attends twice a week for housekeeping support
  • A large, automatic car is provided for work use
  • They have a lovely home with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere
  • The family have two affectionate miniature dachshunds

The Nanny:

  • Confident, reliable, trustworthy, energetic and calm under pressure
  • Experienced with multiple children and sole-charge positions
  • Ideally holds formal childcare qualifications or has nursery/school background
  • Organised, proactive with a genuine love for children
  • Pet friendly and a confident/safe and sensible driver (essential)
  • Enhanced DBS check required or willing to have one completed before starting
