
Estate Worker Operative, Halesworth, Suffolk – JB1951

The employer
A privately owned and occupied Georgian country house, with extensive gardens restored to Capability Brown’s original – but never implemented – designs by noted English landscape architect Kim Wilkie.
It’s estate extends to 8000+ acres of parkland and woodland.
You’ll be working as part of the estate team, responsible for the Estate jobs deemed suitable by Estate Manager.
These could include: –
- Cutting all deciduous plantations on Kioti Tractor and Wessex Flail.
- Watering, use of a 3000L water bowser and vineyard tractor. Watering newly planted hedges across the whole estate.
- Relief Spraying of deciduous plantations.
- Spraying parkland thistles and nettles using a Polaris Agri Quad.
- You’ll also keep accurate records of areas sprayed.
- During weather conditions that prevent spraying, you will be working with the wider estate team undertaking tasks such as logging, maintenance, and more.
- You will also be involved with setting up the estates many events held throughout the year.
- Training provided to broaden your career in the field if appropriate.
What you’ll need
Understanding of chemicals used to best efficiency
Experience of operating agricultural quad bikes and trailers.
****Tractor experience essential, compact tractor, ride on tractor, agricultural tractor experience****
Daily checks of all machines which you will operate
PA1, PA6 ideal but not essential.
Physically fit with a love of working outdoors (in all weathers!)
Ability to work in a small team, with great communication and listening skills.
What you’ll receive
– £26,000 – £29,000 per annum dependent on experience
– Full time permanent employment based on a minimum of 39 hours per week (7:30am-4:15pm)
