Luton Hoo Estate is a historic and privately-owned country estate in the heart of Bedfordshire.

The estate encompasses a range of period and modern buildings, formal gardens, and residential and commercial properties. We are committed to the ongoing preservation, refurbishment, and enhancement of the estate’s properties and grounds.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Estate Tradesman to join our maintenance team. This hands-on role involves a broad range of tasks across the estate, supporting ongoing refurbishments and general property upkeep. The ideal candidate will take pride in their craftsmanship and be confident working on both modern and period properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fitting kitchens across residential properties on the estate
  • Undertaking internal refurbishment works, including flooring, doors, windows, and skirting
  • General maintenance including repairs to buildings, outbuildings, and estate structures
  • Working with traditional materials and methods where appropriate for heritage conservation
  • Collaborating with other trades and estate staff to complete projects efficiently
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with health and safety regulations

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience of carpentry work in a residential or estate environment
  • Basic plumbing, plastering, or tiling skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and finish quality
  • Competency with both hand and power tools
  • Ability to interpret plans and work independently or as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience working on listed or heritage properties
  • Relevant carpentry/joinery qualifications
  • Good knowledge of CDM regulations
