Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Maintenance Operative to join our team at West Lexham. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of maintenance and housekeeping tasks to ensure our facilities are well-maintained and our guests have an exceptional experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Management: Maintain effective relationships with management, suppliers, and other key internal and external individuals and groups.
  • Guest Relations: Provide exceptional guest and customer service.
  • Daily Maintenance: Carry out daily maintenance tasks and perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues.
  • Improvement and Strategy: Identify areas for improvement and contribute to the maintenance strategy.
  • Maintenance Schedule: Execute tasks to meet the maintenance schedule and satisfy West Lexham’s needs.
  • Event Support: Set up and take down temporary structures for events or bookings.
  • Building Projects: Assist with the installation of building projects, refurbishments, and new build unique structures.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are followed within your department.
  • Hosting: Be available for hosting shifts as required.
  • Team Support: Assist in other team responsibilities when necessary and participate in meetings and team briefings.
  • Training: Undertake necessary in-house training and any identified training needs in workplace development practices.
  • Housekeeping Assistance: Assist with transporting linen around the site, cleaning fires, public areas, and heavy equipment.
  • Routine Tasks: Perform any other routine tasks as required by senior staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve minor repair issues.
  • Flexibility to assist in various tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to following health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in maintenance or housekeeping roles is a plus.

Hours:

  • Days of work including required overtime and weekends – 4 days over 7, paid hourly so any hours done are paid for.
  • Length of placement (start and end date) – Start Immediately, this is long term sick cover so at least Jan but could be extended on a month rolling basis after that.
