Part Time experienced Groom/Rider – REF 806

Part time experienced Groom/Rider required for family sports horse stud located in rural Suffolk close to Bury St Edmunds – easy access from A14.

The ideal person will be reliable, punctual and work well within a small established team who provide first class care to the stud’s beautiful horses.

The job:–

All yard duties to a high standard-mucking out, grooming, tack cleaning, hays, waters and generally keeping all areas clean ,tidy and safe at all times
Turning horses out and bringing in from the field
Washing off and rugging up
Handling Mares , foals and youngstock
Lunging and long reining
Clipping, plaiting, mane pulling etc
Ridden exercise
Weekends shared on a rota basis

The Person will:-

Be Reliable with a good work ethic
Be a real team player
Have a genuine love of working with horses
Preferably have worked in a stud environment
Be really confident handling horses on the ground
Have excellent turnout skills(plaiting, clipping etc)
Be able to spot injury and illness
Be able to follow instructions but also work using own initiative

Good hourly rate offered to the successful person.

Car driver essential due to location not being near public transport.
