Full Time Head Groom – Woodbridge, Suffolk -REF 954

Full Time Head groom required for heavy horse stud ( Suffolk Punches)  located in Hollesley approx 8 miles from Woodbridge, Suffolk.

The Position :-

• Managing a team of staff and reporting to the Stud Manager
• Being hands on with all yard duties
• Working with Suffolk Horses providing first class care at all times
• Handling horses on the ground including stallions, mares, foals and youngstock
• Being able to prepare horses for shows and events would be an advantage
• Dealing with visitors when the stud is open to the public
• Liaising with Manager, other staff members, vets, farriers and visitors.
• Involves having great organisational and communication skills

The Person:-

• Reliable, enthusiastic with a great work ethic
• Experienced in all aspects of top class horse care
• Happy to be very hands on at all times working within the team and alone when required
• Will have preferably, previously worked with heavy horses and understand the demands involved
• Will be easy to get along with and have the ability to advise, help and offer training to staff members
• Must be physically fit and healthy
• Will have their own transport as stud not on public transport route

This is a live out position although there could be an opportunity to house share with another staff member off site. Weekends will be worked on a rota basis.
