Full Time Competition Groom – Brentwood / Essex -REF 1158

Full Time experienced Groom required for private showjumping yard located near Brentwood, Essex .

The family have international show jumpers competing at a high level and will require the groom to travel both home and abroad. A lorry driver would be a great advantage.

There are 3 other full time grooms employed so this is not an isolated position.

This can be  a live in or live out position and accommodation is within a 3 bedroom house shared with 1 other.

A good salary will be offered to the successful person and will depend on experience.

The Position :-

• Yard duties – mucking out, waters, hays, feeding, grooming, turning out and bringing in from the field, tack cleaning, yard sweeping, lorry cleaning
• Preparing horses for rider
• Exercising fit competition horses – warming up and hacking
• Preparing horses for travel-bandaging and packing lorry
• Grooming at events – tacking up, studding up, cooling off and prepping for home journey
• Clipping, plaiting, mane pulling and trimming all essential
• Driving HGV or 7.5 T lorry( preferred)

The Person:-

• Reliable, enthusiastic with a good work ethic
• A real team player with an easy to get along with personality
• The ability to work using own initiative when required
• Happy to travel to international and national events occasionally
• Lorry driver preferred but not essential
• Good rider
• Will have excellent turn out skills
• Will have excellent fully checkable references
• Will be a car driver
