Part Time Groom – Nr Colchester / Essex -REF 1007

Part Time experienced Groom required for private competition yard approx 20 minutes from both Sudbury and Colchester. Car driver essential due to no public transport to property.

This is a lovely position for a groom looking to work locally assisting with the care of 2 Event horses competing at a high level and a small pony. The ideal person will have previous professional groom experience or have been involved with horses for many years and understand the demands of the high standards required .

The position will require the groom to work approx 12-20 hours a week, preferably 5 mornings a week with the ability to come back in the afternoon to do afternoon stables and turn horses out.

Someone who could cover Sundays would be fabulous!

There is accommodation available for someone who is not quite local enough to travel daily .

The Position will include:-

• Bringing horses in from the field and turning out
• Rug changing, grooming and checking for injuries
• Mucking out the stables
• Poo picking the field
• Putting horses on the walker or in the solarium
• Hays and waters
• Sweeping yard and keeping all areas tidy
• Tack cleaning
• Holding horses for vet or farrier if required

For someone wanting extra hours there could be a few hours housekeeping available.
