Housekeeper / Cook- Essex / Suffolk border (FILLED)

Experienced Live-In Head Housekeeper / Cook required for private country house on the Essex/Suffolk borders between Colchester and Ipswich.

The ideal person will have previously held a similar post within a private household and who understands the requirements of working in a family environment.

A friendly, enthusiastic person who takes a pride in what they do, with a ‘can do’ attitude.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone looking for a really traditional style role working in a beautiful period home with possibly the best views in the county!

There is a housekeeper/cleaner employed 3 days a week to do all areas of the house apart from the kitchen and dayrooms.

We are looking for someone who can fulfil the following :-
• High standard cleaning of the kitchen and adjoining garden room
• change bed linen, laundry and ironing
• shop for the household
• source and prepare healthy, nutritional meals and understand dietary requirements
• advise other staff members of any special tasks required
• assist with parties
• create supper party menus, cook and serve
• check stock and replenish larder
• bake lovely cakes
• keep fresh flowers in the house
This is not an isolated position as there are several other staff employed within the Estate who actually all come in for coffee every morning.

In return for the above a competitive salary will be offered as well a 2 bedroom cottage next to the main house.

Animal lover essential as the family have 3 gorgeous dogs and several horses on site.

The hours will be mainly Monday to Friday with weekends by arrangement.

This is a highly recommended position as the current, wonderful housekeeper is retiring after 30 years.

Car driver and non-smoker.
