Full Time Live In Couple – Wendover, Buckinghamshire REF 1213

Experienced Couple required for young family located in a beautiful part of Buckinghamshire. The position will consist of managing 2 properties within a short walk of each other within the grounds of the farm.

We are looking for a traditional housekeeper and gardener/groundsperson with previous private household experience.

It is worth noting that the current couple have been with the family for more than 16 years which to us speaks volumes.

What the position involves:-

Housekeeping:

• All housework to a high standard throughout both family homes (main house and the lodge)
• Laundry and ironing, including wardrobe management, darning and sewing.
• Polishing silver
• Cooking to a good standard and happy to cook for dinner parties. Helping/serving when entertaining
• Child care if required – the family in the main house have a 3 year old girl
• Pet care if required – the family from the lodge sometimes leave their dogs in the main house
• Driving which could be airport runs or running errands
• Ideally at least one of the couple should be on site when the family are away
• Dealing with contractors and visitors to the farm when required.
• Cleaning woodburner/fires and relaying ready to light.
• Preparing rooms for guests
• Refreshing flowers

Gardening and Groundskeeping:

• General gardening to include, grass cutting, hedge cutting, strimming, border maintenance (weeding and pruning) and tidying of all areas
• Swimming pool and tennis court maintenance
• General maintenance including window and gutter cleaning off ladders
• Daily feeding of chickens and maintaining the coup and run
• Being the first point of call for dealing with issues relating to residential/commercial properties on the Farm/Estate.
• Security when family are away
• Dealing with tradespeople
• Driving and cleaning cars
• Handyperson extras such as light bulb changing, chopping firewood (possible chain saw use), leaf blowing, raking leaves and helping where needed.

The ideal couple will be honest, trustworthy with a strong work ethic and a genuine enjoyment of the roles they fulfil. Kind and caring, they will  contribute to a happy household with easy to get along with personalities.

Flexibility is important as schedules change, so this would suit a couple who can adjust and deal with unexpected requests, remaining calm and positive at all times.

The couple will be offered a self contained property on the Estate and a competitive salary in exchange for 5.5 days a week worked and weekend availability.
