Gardener/Groundsperson – Cambridgeshire REF 1271

Experienced Gardener required for private gardens located  South of Cambridge. Ideally 4/5 days a week with a minimum of 32 hours.

We are looking for a professional gardener who can manage the 3 acre walled garden.

The position would suit someone with a keen interest in organic/or biodynamic gardening and who can work with very little chemical use.

The Position will include :

• Lawn Care including mowing with a ride on mower
• Strimming
• Weeding and Pruning
• Care of formal rose garden
• Maintaining the wild flower meadow
• Maintenance and development of the borders
• Restocking/replanting where necessary – good horticultural knowledge and a desire to evolve the garden overtime
• Maintaining kitchen garden and cutting garden
• Build planting
• Maintenance of paths and driveway
• Hedge cutting
• Leaf blowing
• Tennis court area maintenance
• Compost heap
• Carrying out basic handy person duties

The Person:

• Reliable, enthusiastic with a good work ethic
• Previous employment as a gardener
• Good horticultural knowledge
• Good with use and upkeep of large garden machinery
• Happy to carry out basic maintenance around the property
• Car driver- with own transport
• Experience working at a Cambridge college would be an advantage.

A good annual salary will be offered to the successful person who can provide fully checkable references.
