Part Time Groom – Newmarket REF 1259

Part Time experienced Groom required for private eventing yard located between Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket( easy access from the A14). The family compete to a high level both in the UK and abroad.

There are 11  beautiful horses on the yard and we are looking for a new team member to provide extra high standard cover.

The facilities are excellent making the working environment very comfortable. Other grooms employed so this is not an isolated position although you will be required to work alone at times.

We are looking for someone who can work the following hours:

Both ends of the day -7-7.30am to 11am and then back again 3pm to 5pm ( ideally)

Mornings only  – to include weekends ( alternate preferred)

Afternoons only- to include weekends ( alternate preferred)

The Position:-

• High standard yard duties – mucking out, grooming, hays, waters, feeds etc
• Handling horses on the ground-leading in and out of the field, rug changing, bandaging etc
• Checking for injuries and illness and make owner etc aware
• Tacking horses up for the rider
• Washing horses off after exercise
• Keeping the yard clean and tidy

The Person:-

• Reliable, punctual, enthusiastic and easy to get along with
• Must have a genuine love of working with horses ( in all weathers)
• Will follow instructions and be able to use own initiative when required
• Will be able to provide excellent references
• Car driver
• Happy to work weekends on a regular basis.

A good hourly salary will be paid to the successful person.
