Full Time Gardener/Groundsperson – Tiptree, Essex Ref 1306

Full Time experienced Gardener/Groundsperson required for beautiful country house located in close to Tiptree, Essex. The gardens are established and require the incoming gardener to maintain to a very high standard. They are open approx 100 days a year and are an important part of a beautiful wedding venue.

The gardens and grounds extend to approx 3 acres and comprise the following areas:-

• Formal lawns and borders
• Rose garden
• Hedges( topiary) orchard and cutting garden
• Swimming pool area
• Hard tennis court
• Paved areas-patios, terraces and 5 ponds of varying sizes
• Greenhouse

The Position:-

• Maintaining formal lawns and borders to the highest standard
• Using large garden machinery
• General gardening, weeding, pruning, mulching, cutting back, replanting and all seasonal work as required
• Keeping tennis court and swimming pool areas tidy
• Vegetable growing

The Person:

• Reliable, enthusiastic with a great work ethic
• Passionate about horticulture with a keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain the gardens to a very high standard
• Experienced with using large garden machinery – ride on mowers, strimmers etc
• A good understanding of working with the seasons to ensure the garden looks its best at all times.
• Will have RHS qualifications or the equivalent.
• Will have previously been a senior gardener working on a private Estate
• Happy to work alone unsupervised, however a good team player when necessary
• Polite and well presented
• Confident with liaising with other staff members and members of the public
• Car driver
