Live In Couple required for private household located on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds ( approx 10 minutes)

A opportunity has arisen for an experienced couple who have previously worked within a private household  to cover Gardening and Housekeeping duties in this wonderful period home.

Gardener

We are looking for a very experienced gardener, preferably with horticultural qualifications who can manage 3 acres of formal gardens. Excellent plant knowledge essential and the ability to understand the seasons, knowing what needs doing at all times. Must be able to work unsupervised and can work using their own initiative

This is a full time, permanent position so the successful person must be happy working outside in all weathers keeping the garden and areas surrounding the house neat, tidy and well stocked throughout the year. Must be happy operating and maintaining large garden machinery, including ride on mower, sprayer,hedge cutter and chain saw.

As well as the formal garden there is a walled garden, tennis  court, swimming pool and orchard – all areas need tending.

Highly recommended position as current gardener has been employed for 15 years!

Housekeeper

This is a part time position – approx 3 or 4 mornings a week managing the housework of this 7 bedroom house.

All housework to a high standard including laundry and ironing.

The housekeeper needs to have a ‘Can Do’ attitude and understand the demands of working within a busy household.

Someone who would be happy to shop for the family and keep the fridge/larder fully stocked.

The Household

The house is home to a family of 5 including 3 children under 7.
