Full Time, experienced Gardener required for small Norfolk estate consisting of approximately 12 acres of landscaped formal and informal gardens, meadows, orchard, kitchen garden, pool area and woodlands. The garden is exquisite and requires someone who is horticulturally knowledgeable, passionate about gardens and with a high attention to detail.
Someone with RHS qualifications or equivalent would be preferred. The person must have worked for a private household/estate previously. This really is a fantastic opportunity for someone.
Hours: Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (No weekends)
Position: Employed or self employed depending on the persons requirements
Responsibilities:
  • Day to day management of all gardens 
  • Maintain & develop garden (c.few acres), pot plants
  • Maintain & develop walled garden (vegetables, fruit)
  • Maintain grounds (around 12 acres), field, hedges, trees, 2x ponds.
  • Seasonal management of the wider land area  
  • Use garden machinery (ride on mower/quad bike & trailer) and hand tools to complete tasks efficiently 
  • Ensure that all outdoor areas are clean, safe, and visually appealing (pool, driveway, seating areas)
  • Follow established procedures for the proper use and storage of equipment and supplies
  • Full responsibility for decisions such as identifying tree works required, replacement planting, and treating any suffering trees/plants/shrubs.
  • Develop biodiversity

The Person:

  • Firm understanding of day to day and seasonal jobs
  • Knowledge of different plants, flowers, and trees
  • Happy to involve & educate family / kids
  • Familiarity with garden machinery and hand tools
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Physically fit to handle the demands of outdoor work
  • Good communication skill
