Gardener/Groom/Maintenance, Guildford, Surrey Ref JF1439

Full Time experienced Gardener/Groom/Maintenance Person required for large family house with approx 12.5 acres of gardens and grounds, located in village location 4 miles south of Guildford. The village has a pub, shop and a cricket pitch so a perfect place to live. London is a 40 minute train ride away.

The family are relaxed, welcoming with an environmentally friendly approach wherever possible and they would like to find someone with the same ethos.

This is very much a role for a country loving person who can turn their hand to variety of tasks making each day different.

The hours will be 8am to 4pm – Monday to Friday.

The Gardening:-

• All lawn care using large garden machinery-ride on mower, strimmer, hedge cutters etc
• General gardening – weeding, pruning, cutting back, replanting-tidying
• Vegetable garden maintenance
• Good knowledge of plants required
• Care of 4 labradors at times-walking and feeding
• Vermin control

The Groom side:-

• Care of 2 horses – 16hh and 14.2 cobs who live out 24/7
• Poo picking the fields, waters, hays and feeds
• General grooming, tacking up, changing rugs, leading horses to their lessons
• Picking feet out and checking for injury
• Assisting Vet and Farrier
• Keeping the yard tidy
• Tack cleaning and rug care

Maintenance:-

• General maintenance of house, stables, sheds, log store, pool area and chalet
• Cleaning and fixing gutters
• Paddock maintenance-topping , rolling etc
• General odd jobs around the property and outbuildings
• Log chopping
• Security when owner away.

The accommodation if required is a cosy one bedroom chalet style bungalow which overlooks the swimming pool and countryside.

Car driver and non smoker.

Good salary offered to the successful person who can provide fully checkable references.
