Full Time, Assistant Housekeeper, Harpley, Norfolk – Ref JF 1491

Full Time, Assistant Housekeeper required for large, private, country house located in a very rural location North of Kings Lynn.

The successful person will support the Housekeeper to deliver all housekeeping duties in this lovely property to a very high standard.

The ideal person will have previously worked within a private household and understand the demands of working around a busy family. A polite, well presented, integral person who works well within a small team is essential.

The hours will normally be 40 per week. Help on the occasional evening and weekend would be great but is not a deal breaker.

Core hours: 9.00am-5.00pm, Monday-Friday although some flexibility with start and finish times on offer.

The Position :-

• All housekeeping duties to a high standard
• Performing deep cleaning when the family are not in residence
• Preparing the house for the family and any guests
• Supporting with the preparation and serving of meals
• Making up beds, changing and ironing linen, presenting beds to a high standard
• Washing and cleaning crockery, silverware and glassware
• Being comfortable around dogs and caring for them as required
• Being comfortable around children
• Carrying out any other duties that may be required for the smooth running of the house

The Person:-

• Previous experience within a similar role would be preferred
• Calm, friendly and approachable
• Discreet, reliable and honest with the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times
• Able to work in an efficient, tidy and careful manner with a high level of attention to detail.
• Will have excellent communication skills
• Will be organised and able to prioritise
• Self-motivated and able to work on their own as well as part of a team, taking direction from the Housekeeper
• Flexible, mature and pro-active
• Able to remain calm when working under pressure and to deadlines
• Positive, pragmatic and professional at all times
• Committed to maintaining and providing the highest standards of service and care
• Car driver
• Non smoker
