Live In Houseperson (Security, Safety & Maintenance) – Norfolk – RR1683

Live in Houseperson required to take care of the security and safety at one of East Anglia’s finest Estates located in beautiful Norfolk, not far from the coast.

We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy person to join the facilities and security team in this wonderful stately home. The role of Houseperson, which is very hands on, is to assist with safety and security of the Hall. Someone who can provide the best possible levels of customer service to both the family and visitors reacting in a prompt and friendly way.

The ability to turn a practical hand to all manner of maintenance jobs whilst keeping on top of mandatory tasks to keep the building running smoothly for visitors, family and staff.

There is a one bedroom apartment available within the Hall best suited to one person.

The Position:-

  • Part of the team providing Security and Safety
  • Making sure the Hall is always well presented and maintained to the highest standards
  • Responding to family requests-such as moving luggage, fire laying, dog care, furniture moving, carrying out tasks and repairs upon request.
  • Opening and closing the doors when required and keeping exit routes clear.
  • Assist with events being held at the Hall, weddings, filming, and VIP visitors to the Estate.
  • Any other duties required within the Estate
  • 5 day week which include 1 weekend day, weekends off on rota basis
  • Assisting with deliveries of equipment, stock, materials, or large parcels and to ensure their delivery to the correct person or area.
  • Assisting with maintenance and upkeep of vehicles

The Person:-

  • Reliable, trustworthy and always able to work with the upmost discretion and sensitivity
  • A friendly, easy to get along with team player
  • Well presented and polite
  • Will have a good working knowledge of fire and security alarms
  • During the winter period will be happy to assist around the Estate with decorating, repairs and replacements.
  • A car driver

  • Able to keep accurate records
  • Full up to speed with IT

There will be a good annual salary offered to the successful person who can provide fully checkable references.

Relief Matron/Housekeeper – Winchester, Hampshire – Ref 1378

Part Time Matron/Housekeeper required for Winchester College in Hampshire to cover Full Time Matron’s weekly time off. The relief Matron will be required to work during term time, which will amount to 31 weeks per year.

The Matron/Housekeeper will be required to sleep overnight in the school to oversee the boarding houses and to carry out a variety of duties which will include:-

  • Staying overnight in the boarding house
  • Supervising controlled medication in the morning and evening
  • Being present during Breakfast, lunch and Supper
  • Assist when pupils are not feeling well
  • Administration duties

The Person:-

  1. Reliable, trustworthy with a genuine love of working with older children
  2. Previous school Matron experience or nursing experience
  3. Able to commit to 30 hours a week over 2 shifts – Tuesday pm to Wednesday pm/ Thursday pm to Saturday am.
  4. Non smoker
  5. Kind, caring with a friendly, easy to get along with personality
  6. A good communicator with a variety of people

Night Manager / Host- West Lexham Retreat- REF 982

The Night Manager / Host role is pivotal at West Lexham. You will be the first person to respond to any questions or issues that occur during the night on site. It is vital that the successful candidate is calm, polite, responsible, and confident dealing with various customer situations, requests, and potential complaints.  The Night Manager / Host will have a duty of care for every person on site.

Hours will be 5.00pm – 11.30pm then 11.30pm-7.30am (on call).  The job will operate on a shift/rota basis with other Night Managers / Hosts.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to any questions or issues customers may have during the night
  • Pack down the café and help set up for the morning
  • Check the grounds are safe and doors are locked
  • Ad hoc cleaning or maintenance work as required

Once everything is quiet, the café is set up and the site is secure, the Night Manager / Host will be able to go to bed in their own dedicated accommodation. The designated Night Manager / Host will only need to respond if and when the phone rings.  Hosts must be prepared to deal with any emergency and keep a record of any issues on shift.

General maintenance knowledge would be an advantage, sorting problems on the spot such as a leaking tap, making it safe until the Head of Maintenance can attend in the morning.

All Night Managers / Hosts will have been fully briefed and have ‘how to’ documents for all possible issues.

Night Managers will be expected to stay on site until the end of their shift and be a qualified first aider (training provided if necessary).

There are many other opportunities for a Night Manager / Host role to be involved in across the business. West Lexham will be hosting regular festivals and events which will require extra manpower as and when needed. Full Time Multi Skilled Level 1 Production Worker – Hadleigh/Suffolk- REF 965

An established business based in Hadleigh ,Suffolk designing and making light fittings and home furnishings are looking for a Full Time Multi skilled team member to undertake a range of production tasks across differing areas of the workshop.

This is a late shift position within the workshop team and the hours will be 1.30pm to 10 pm ( Monday to Friday)

A competitive salary due to be increased from 1st March 2022 and there is also a 10% premium for working the late shift.

23 days holiday plus 8 days bank holidays-this will increase to 25 days plus 8 in 2024.

Tasks will include :-

  • Cutting and Processing
  • Drilling and Threading
  • Tube bending
  • Tending CNC machines
  • Load/unload spinning machine
  • All forms of blasting
  • Prep for AB, BW and painting

The successful person must work in a safe manner and be personally accountable for completing their day to day activities in accordance with training, SOPs and Drawings.

Must be able to keep accurate work records and proactively suggest improvements in processing, tooling and equipment to increase safety, quality and efficiency. The ability to check quality of own work and responsible for looking after the equipment. Also maintain the work place to a high standard of cleanliness.

The ideal person will be a good team player with a ‘can do’ approach to work and a willingness to undertake a range of tasks and learn new skills. The ability to read basic drawings essential and to use a variety of workshop tools both hand and fixed.
