Local Mothers Help / Childcare required for small family near Freethorpe, Norwich.

Both parents work full time and regularly travel to London and/or internationally for work purposes. They are looking for a super reliable and wonderful person to help them with their children on a part time basis, every afternoon, Monday-Friday.

The family have a 3 and 9 year old. One goes to nursery and the other is at school.

The hours:

  • Monday: Approx 5.30 pm -7.00 – 8.00 pm (to include nursery / school collection, after school club and supper in a local pub/restaurant, back home, bath and bed)
  • Tuesday: approx  4.15 pm – 7.00 – 8.00 pm (to include nursery/ school collection, football training then back home for supper, bath and bed
  • Wednesday: approx 4.30 pm – 6.00 – 7.00pm (relaxed evening with no activities / clubs)
  • Thursday:  approx 4.30 pm- 6.00 -7.00pm  (to include nursery/ school collection, swimming club then back home bath and bed)
  • Friday:approx 4/5pm – 5/6pm  (relaxed evening with no activities / clubs)

If the parents are having to work in London or abroad, there will be times when the Mothers Help will need to stay a bit longer (7-8pm). It can vary however, sometimes  2 – 3 days a week, sometimes none- flexibility is therefore paramount.

If the Mothers Help requires more hours each week then this is a possibility, but the role will then include a bit of light housekeeping, cooking, shopping and ironing to make up the hours.

This is ideally a self-employed position and would suit someone who is nice, local. and flexible.  School holiday hours will be different as the family tend to travel abroad to visit relatives. Someone looking to have school holidays off would be preferred although the family are happy to try and work something out if needs be.

The successful person will need to drive,  have a clean licence and be happy using their own car.  Mileage will be covered.

Pool Maintenance/ Groundsperson, White Colne, Essex REF SP1685

Part Time Pool Maintenance person required for a busy private hire pool based in White Colne, Essex. The Pool Maintenance position can be worked alongside the 2 day’s a week Groundsperson position, or they can be two separate positions.

Our client has a wonderful farm that is home to a number of successful businesses they they run themselves. They would like some additional help with keeping the grounds well maintained, the maintenance of the pool managed and help with the Willow Weaving business.

The ideal person for the Pool Maintenance position will be someone very local and possibly looking for an ‘extra income’ , who doesn’t mind being available most mornings and evenings. The role does require someone every morning and evening Mon-Thurs before 8.30am and after 9pm to clean and check chemical levels of the pool. The weekends can be worked on a rota, but ideally they would be worked most of the time by the successful applicant. The total hours worked each day will be around 1.5 hours.

The groundsperson position requires someone to do any gardening/ maintenance jobs as required, including; hedge cutting, mowing, strimming, painting, fixing fences etc. Our client has a successful Willow Weaving business and the owners would love someone who is passionate with a great work ethic to be involved with this also. The groundsperson/ willow weaving would be roughly 2 days a week work and would require someone to be flexible with days.
Full training for both the Pool Maintenance and willow weaving will be given. Experience will be required for the groundsperson/ handyperson position.

The Position:-

  • Daily checking, cleaning and chemical testing of the swimming pool, both before it opens in the morning and after it closes at night. This could possibly be shared on a rota system if two applicants would like to job share.
  • General help around the farm/ estate including grass and hedge cutting, fixing fences, painting and basic handy person jobs
  • Help with the willow weaving business would be a bonus

The current groom works approx 2-3 hours a day, caring for 2/3 thoroughbreds who hunt regularly, so someone who can turn horses out immaculately would be a great advantage.

The position will include all yard duties to a high standard, riding and handling fit horses on the ground, feeding, hays, waters, turning our and bringing in from the field, checking for injuries and illness, liaising with vets, farriers, feed merchants etc,

Lorry driver would be great but not a dealbreaker.

The ideal person will be reliable, trustworthy and have many years of working with horses behind them.

Groom/Groundsperson, Halstead, Essex REF JF1624

Full Time Groom/Groundsperson required for family yard located near Halstead Essex. Easy access from the A12 and A120.

The family have 2 horses at the moment but there will be another added to the yard shortly.

The Groom will be required to carry out all yard duties, exercise the horses ( with another rider ), clip, plait and generally keep the yard and horses in good condition at all times. The horses live out all summer and come back into work in July through to March. A lorry driver would be great but not a dealbreaker and someone who can turn the horses out for hunting would be an advantage.

There is a 3 bedroom house available on site and a couple would be considered who can manage the two jobs between them. Well behaved pet welcome too.

Car driver essential.

The Groundsperson will be required to maintain the grounds alongside a gardener, strimming, weeding, pruning, hedge cutting, spraying and basic handyperson duties around the yard. Dog care also required at times.

Afternoon Nanny/ Mothers Help- Albury, Hertfordshire- REF RR1622

Lovely, reliable and flexible afternoon Nanny / Mothers Help required to assist busy family of 4, 3-4 afternoons a week.

The children are both school age, one is at a local school and the other is at boarding school.

Hours: 

  • 15- 18 hours a week

Days of work:

Ideally a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and possibly a Friday afternoon. The core days would be a Tuesday and Thursday as these tend to be the busiest afternoons with a lot going on.

Breakdown of the position:

Term time:

Monday – 3pm-6.30pm (3.5 hours)

  • Would involve a school collection at 3.15. A short walk to a dance class (500 metres away). Dance ends 4.45. Home for tea etc

Tuesday- 3pm or 5.30pm start- 9pm finish (3.5 or 6 hours)

  • School collection at 3.15 . Home for quick supper. Leave home at 6.30 for Guides in Ware (20 min drive). Involves waiting nearby and collecting at 8.30pm. This could potentially be a shared day – Mum could perhaps do school pick up, but would then need someone to take over later, by 5.30 latest. Mum will then need to go to Cambridge to see her son perform. Someone could cover the lot from 3,15-9pm or they could do 5.30-9pm if more convenient. This is to be confirmed.

Thursday- 2.45-8.15pm (5.5 hours)

  •  School pick up at 2.45pm. Drive to Hertford for singing lesson (takes 25 mins). Wait at singing lesson/nearby. Come home for tea etc. Mum wouldn’t be around at all and would be back  at 8.15pm so  it will be sole charge.

Friday- 3.15pm-6pm (2.45 hours)

  • 3.15 school collection. Little play in the park with friends, then home for tea etc.

All mileage will be covered for driving but the person must be happy to use their own car.

School Holidays:

A lot more flexible. If the person would rather have holidays off entirely that’s not a problem, if however they would like to continue working throughout, that’s fine too. The hours will change and will be more daytime than afternoon/evening.

This would suit an experienced, local, caring and kind person who is ultra reliable and trustworthy.

Clean driving licence essential.

Experience looking after children vital.

We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy person to assist an elderly couple with shopping and preparing meals and possibly light duties within the house.

A good cook is essential who can provide healthy, delicious evening meals and sometimes lunches which can be eaten the next day.

This would suit a kind, caring person who is lovely to have around.

There is no personal care involved just help with preparing supper, changing the bed and some ironing.

The ideal person will be able to come in perhaps 3 or 4 afternoons a week for 2/3 hours each time maybe less to start with. This will also enable one of them to have some time away from the house, knowing that their other half is safe and not alone. One has early Alzheimers but both are physically fit and well. At other times company for both of them would be great – a different person to chat too!
