The Role –

The Head Shepherd will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our 850- ewe sheep enterprise. The role will include undertaking daily sheep checks, as well as lambing, tailing, vaccinating, tagging and weaning.  Contract crutching/shearing and scanning made available.

The position involves working closely with the owner to organise grazing and labour requirements on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

The sheep are outside all year round, so the applicant must be used to working with Rappa (or equivalent) temporary fencing. Grazing consists of summer catch crops, winter cover crops and herbal leys. These grazing platforms are shared with the cattle enterprise, and the shepherd would be expected to work closely with the owner to discuss the grazing plan for both enterprises.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to plan their own workload and highlight when additional labour is required. Working closely with the wider farm team will also be an important part of this role.

Head Housekeeper required for beautiful country estate located in the not too far from Aviemore and Pitlochry .

We are looking for a very experienced housekeeper who can manage the estate properties to the highest standard.

The properties comprise the main lodge, chapel and amazing holiday rental properties around the estate. These will always be in a state of preparation for occupancy, allowing for family/guests to arrive at short notice.

The housekeeper’s role is to manage, supervise, train and work alongside the housekeeping staff, ensuring correct standards and practices are maintained.  There are currently 3 people in the team, however between August and October seasonal housekeepers and butlers are brought in to assist. The successful person will be able to develop a well-ordered routine for daily tasks during family visits, and an in-depth program to include specific tasks. when the house(s) are unoccupied.  Keeping the teams busy and motivated at all times, some days/weeks will be extremely busy and other times less so during periods of non-occupation.

This is a very practical, hands on position, definitely not for someone who wants to lead from a desk!

The hours will be           Off Peak.         Monday to Friday.         08.30 to 16.30

                                       Peak Times.    Whatever hours are required to fulfil the criteria of the position.            Weekends will always be worked during peak times

This role offers a variety of tasks which will include but not be limited to the following:

  • All housework to an exceptional standard, including linen changing and remaking beds

The Housekeeper will:

  • Assist in the running of the shooting lodge which is maintained to a high standard.

The Gamekeeper will:

One of the housekeepers is leaving after 21 fabulous years working for the family. She will be greatly missed and we are looking for someone perfect to step into her shoes. There is another wonderful housekeeper in residence who will remain as part of the team, which also comprises a chef/house manager and a groundsperson.

The house is large and recently built on quite a grand scale, however everything inside is well designed and the rooms, windows etc are all beautifully maintained making cleaning much easier.

This is a live in position and a large fully furnished, warm lodge will be offered, allowing for a short walk across the garden to work each day. The lodge has a fully fitted kitchen, 55” TV and super speed broadband. It is situated in mature grounds with an abundance of trees and greenery and is very quiet and private. The family have 2 large dogs and 3 cats so an animal lover is essential.

The family have 3 grown up children who live away but come to stay occasionally, so the house is very quiet most of the time.

The usual day will start at 06.45 for one person and 9am for the other (when 2 housekeepers are on) and finish 6/7pm(later when the family give occasional dinner parties).

Within these hours there will be a 3 hour break, allowing for time away from the house. There will be periodic weekends required with time off in lieu.

The location lends itself to outdoor activities such as coastal walking, sea swimming, running, cycling etc.

Potentially coming to housekeep and assist the chef in the family’s annual holiday on a Scottish Estate for two weeks.

The role is primarily cleaning and laundry to a high standard (polishing, dusting, hoovering, mopping, tidying, organising drawers/cupboards, changing bed linen etc)

  • Cooking: basic family cooking plus bulk “freezer” cooking for shoot lunches. Also option to cook for dinner parties should applicant be interested and experienced.

Chauffeur – Head of Operations, London REF JB1696

The Royal Household are looking to recruit a Chauffeur – Head of Operations to be based at The Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace.

As Head Chauffeur you will lead an exceptional team of professional chauffeurs and oversee vehicle operations in support of events and day to day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • With responsibility of the Garage, you will have oversight of vehicle maintenance and presentation, record keeping, equipment usage and health and safety standards
  • Managing the Chauffeur team, you will support their recruitment, training, coaching and performance to ensure the delivery of an exceptional service
  • Liaising with colleagues, you will prepare plans and rosters to ensure appropriate levels of support as well as co-ordinating transport requests
  • You will support advance route planning activities, working with other colleagues and agencies.

Essential Criteria:

  • You will be an experienced Manager used to taking a hands-on approach in a similar context
  • An assured driver with significant professional driving experience, you will hold a full Cat B and D1 clean, UK driving licence
  • Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills  essential with the ability to handle competing priorities while maintaining a professional service
  • An outstanding team player, who can build good working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and you will be used to liaising and interacting with people at all levels

The successful candidate can benefit from on-site accommodation and will travel for up to six weeks of the year within the UK, including occasional international trips.

Full Time experienced Private Chauffeur required by the Royal Household to be based within the The Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace, Central London.

The new Chauffeur will join a professional team who drive Principals, officials, guests and visitors to a variety of events as well as day to day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving passengers to a variety of engagements, contributing to the smooth daily running of the Royal Household’s travel operations
  • Maintaining and presenting vehicles to the highest standards and keeping accurate records
  • Providing varied support for daily routines and the upkeep of the garage, taking into account Health and Safety and Security protocols
  • At times, taking charge of the garage, supporting senior colleagues to always deliver an efficient and exceptional service

Essential Criteria:

  • An assured driver with significant professional driving experience who will hold a full Cat B and D1 clean, UK driving licence
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills and able to provide an unparalleled chauffeur experience tailored to the needs of the guests
  • An outstanding team player who can adapt to a varied and responsive schedule
  • Excellent time management, planning and problem-solving skills and the ability to undertake duties efficiently and effectively
  • Basic IT skills and the ability to manage daily administrative tasks

Part Time Housekeeper / Cook / Companion (live in)- Burnham Market- RR1693

Experienced, live in and lovely part time, private housekeeper required for elderly lady who has a beautiful home in Burnham Market, Norfolk.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone. No personal care is required.  Our client is fit and healthy and is very active and sociable.

The person must have worked in a similar role previously and be a well referenced, kind and friendly housekeeper.

Hours:

  • 9:30am until 2:30pm Monday-Friday (5 hours / day) plus 9:30am to 1:30pm (3.5 hours) on sat. 28.5 hours per week (flexibility is key)

Duties:

  • Cooking & prepping
    • Lay table & make lunch every day plus prep light dinner for principal to pop in the oven
    • Small socials (lay the table, prep lunch, bridge tea, tea, occasional small dinner parties) prep and clean up afterwards / in the morning
  • Cleaning (hoover, dusting, keep it neat & tidy, laundry, ironing, bathrooms)
  • Housekeeper to make the bed daily and change linen as appropriate including when guests stay occasionally at the weekend.
  • Shopping for food (& making sure food in the fridge isn’t way beyond its sell-by date)
  • Apple Mac tech support as required (ordering on internet support, help with passwords, App downloads, occasional email support like attachments)
  • Driving as required (longer journeys, principal drives locally still)
  • House management (order logs, bring logs into house & lay fire daily in winter, change heating & water times, resolve any issues, read meters, arrange window cleaning etc.)
