Experienced Wardrobe Co-ordinator required to join a small, busy team within a large country home in rural Gloucestershire, for the female principal.

This is a part time position and the hours will be 20 per week, ideally over 4 days – to be agreed, however flexibility required to cover changing schedules on occasions.

As Wardrobe Co-ordinator in the private household, you will be responsible for the care, maintenance and preparation of the principal’s wardrobe and for the cleanliness of their private rooms. A flexible approach to working hours is essential due to the nature of the principal’s busy itinerary but we are open to discussion on the exact working pattern.

Key Responsibilities include:

Wardrobe:

  • Have primary responsibility for the care of the female principal’s wardrobe at the country home, including packing, undertaking cleaning, repairs and alterations as required.
  • Take direction on outfit choices and undertaking personal dressing duties as required, including pressing all clothing, preparing garments, shoes, bags, hats for specific functions, preparing and laying out clothes daily.
  • Provide styling suggestions relevant to the nature of events.
  • Undertake simple repairs and alterations, co-ordinating dry-cleaning or advanced alterations as required.
  • Co-ordinate wardrobe and luggage for travel as required.
  • Maintain records of the condition of pieces ensuring everything is stored and repaired as needed.
  • Undertake personal shopping and clothing purchases when necessary.
  • Work flexibly, undertaking any other duties commensurate with the role and as required to ensure that a high standard of service is maintained.
  • Housekeeping:
  • Responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the bedroom, bathroom, and wardrobe area.
  • Undertake a hands-on role with general cleaning duties as required including dusting, hoovering and restocking of bathroom supplies
  • Responsible for the care, laundry and ironing of personal items About you: Essential:
  • Demonstrable experience of working with clothing or housekeeping to a high standard.
  • Possess strong practical skills, including basic dressmaking, alterations and the ability to both machine and hand sew to a high standard.

Both parents work full time and regularly travel to London and/or internationally for work purposes. They are looking for a super reliable and wonderful person to help them with their children on a part time basis, every afternoon, Monday-Friday.

The family have a 3 and 9 year old. One goes to nursery and the other is at school.

The hours:

  • Monday: Approx 5.30 pm -7.00 – 8.00 pm (to include nursery / school collection, after school club and supper in a local pub/restaurant, back home, bath and bed)
  • Tuesday: approx  4.15 pm – 7.00 – 8.00 pm (to include nursery/ school collection, football training then back home for supper, bath and bed

If the Mothers Help requires more hours each week then this is a possibility, but the role will then include a bit of light housekeeping, cooking, shopping and ironing to make up the hours.

This is ideally a self-employed position and would suit someone who is nice, local. and flexible.  School holiday hours will be different as the family tend to travel abroad to visit relatives. Someone looking to have school holidays off would be preferred although the family are happy to try and work something out if needs be.

We are looking for an experienced  Freelance Garden Designer to join an award winning, thriving family business with over 25 years experience, creating beautiful gardens and timber frame garden buildings for the distinctive landscape and architecture of East Anglia.

The office is located close to Framlingham and the new staff member must be a car driver with their own transport. They will be required to attend meetings in the office and visit sites in Suffolk, South Norfolk, North Essex and East Cambridgeshire.

Requirements for the Garden Designer

  • Over one year experience of working in the garden design/landscape architecture field or currently undertaking a qualification in garden design/ landscape architecture, degree or diploma desirable but other qualifications considered
  • Proficient or learning to be in the use of 2D CAD such as Vectorworks or AutoCAD and 3D modeling such as SketchUp (Vectorworks is used and supplied in the office)
  • Basic plant knowledge
  • Can work to tight deadlines
  • Good people skills
  • Driving license

Desirable

  • Landscape construction and materials knowledge
  • Experience in designing planting plans
  • Plant care knowledge

Live In/Out Housekeeper – Holt, Norfolk- Ref RR1636

This fantastic position has fallen through sadly and we are on the look out again for someone great to join the team.

The family are hoping to find an experienced and wonderful Housekeeper to replace their previous Housekeeper of 4 years.

The family home is 2 miles from Holt (a lovely Georgian market town) and a 20 minute drive from North Norfolk’s famous sandy beaches. It is an eight bedroom house with beautiful azalea and rhododendron gardens which are open to the public throughout May.  The house is part of an impressive family estate with arable farm and shoot.

We are looking for a self-motivated, adaptable individual who will be open to adjusting their role as the family’s needs develop.

The role is primarily cleaning and laundry to a high standard (polishing, dusting, hoovering, mopping, tidying, organising drawers/cupboards, changing bed linen etc)

The role will also include:

  • Cooking: basic family cooking plus bulk “freezer” cooking for shoot lunches. Also option to cook for dinner parties should applicant be interested and experienced.
  • Some childcare, including driving, for 11 year old boy-girl twins and 7 year-old boy: occasional babysitting and supervising
  • Occasional weekend and evening work
  • When owners are entertaining: tidying communal areas; preparing, serving and clearing meals
  •  Special events:  e.g.. May garden opening – being on hand to assist with all areas of organisation
  • Responsible for household when owners are away
  • Helping with childcare, dogs and security as and when needed.

Regular hours: This is a full time, permanent role. 7.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday with morning coffee break and half an hour for lunch. There will be some weekend work – up to eight weekends a year – where the family would require support preparing and serving meals and keeping the house tidy for guests.

Accommodation (if required)

The position includes rent-free detached 3-bedroom cottage neighbouring to the main house. It has a sitting room, kitchen, bathroom, garden and parking area. A car will be provided for work duties but, given their rural location, it is essential the applicant has their own car and clean driving licence. Small family and pets welcome.
