Experienced Cook required for lovely children’s day nursery located in the village of East Bergholt, between Ipswich and Colchester.

We are looking for someone who can work 5 days a week – Monday to Friday (no weekends) and the ideal hours will be 8am to 3pm, however flexibility can be shown to allow the cook to start and finish within school hours. This is a year round position as the nursery does not close during the normal school holidays.

Full Time experienced Head Gardener required for a beautiful private country house located between Lavenham and Bury St Edmunds. This is a live in position with accommodation provided in the village.

We are looking for an experienced gardener, who has worked as a private gardener previously and has excellent references to look after and manage this beautiful garden consisting of flower beds, lawns, hedges, a walled garden and small vegetable patch. There is roughly 8 acres of garden and within this a large moat (separately maintained) and wild areas. There is also about 8 acres of paddocks which are either grazed or cut.

This is a full time position, Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm (hours can be flexible). This is a live in position with a 4 bedroom modern bungalow provided in the local village. There could be one days housekeeping work for the other half of the couple but this is not essential. A family and dog would be welcome.

Duties to include

  • To keep all drives, gardens, borders and paved areas clean and tidy
  • Maintain the current borders to a high standard and water all new planting and tubs
  • Cut wood and fill log baskets
  • Cutting all lawns, long grass and grass rides around the fields, hedge cutting and using weed killer where necessary
  • Keep gutters clear of leaves, etc.
  • Look after all machinery and equipment, e.g. cutters, flymos, mowers, ride on cutter, saws,  pumps, and tractor and trailer etc.
  • Maintain compost heap and bonfires
  • Maintain protectors around young trees
  • Liaise with external contractors and controlling access to the house when the owners are away
  • Plant borders and shrub work in collaboration with the owners
  • Maintain garden furniture, keep leisure areas tidy and small job repairs
  • Occasionally level the sand menage with tractor

Part Time Pool Maintenance person required for a busy private hire pool based in White Colne, Essex. The Pool Maintenance position can be worked alongside the 2 day’s a week Groundsperson position, or they can be two separate positions.

Our client has a wonderful farm that is home to a number of successful businesses they they run themselves. They would like some additional help with keeping the grounds well maintained, the maintenance of the pool managed and help with the Willow Weaving business.

The ideal person for the Pool Maintenance position will be someone very local and possibly looking for an ‘extra income’ , who doesn’t mind being available most mornings and evenings. The role does require someone every morning and evening Mon-Thurs before 8.30am and after 9pm to clean and check chemical levels of the pool. The groundsperson position requires someone to do any gardening/ maintenance jobs as required, including; hedge cutting, mowing, strimming, painting, fixing fences etc. Our client has a successful Willow Weaving business and the owners would love someone who is passionate with a great work ethic to be involved with this also. The groundsperson/ willow weaving would be roughly 2 days a week work and would require someone to be flexible with days.

The hours will be 12 per week over 4 mornings – Monday to Thursday with the flexibility to assist at other times, such as shoot lunches ( by arrangement)

There is another housekeeper employed Fridays.

The current housekeeper is sadly leaving after 6 years and they would love the incoming person to be looking for a long term position.

The Position:-

  • All housework to a high standard
  • Laundry and ironing
  • Bed changing
  • Silver cleaning
  • Antique care
  • Specialist fabric care
  • Occasional pet care  (2 dogs)

The Person:-

  • Reliable, trustworthy with a good work ethic
  • Local – within half an hour of property ideally
  • Experienced with a managing the housework of a large house to a high standard.
  • A good ironer
  • Happy to undertake a variety of tasks such as silver polishing, antique care etc
  • Flexible and able to assist with shoot lunches during the season.
  • Car driver with own transport

A good salary will be offered on a self employed basis to the successful person who can provided fully checkable references.

Nanny, Felixstowe, Suffolk Ref JF1623

Part Time experienced Nanny required for busy family located approx 5 miles North of Felixstowe and 13 miles South of Ipswich. Easy access via A14 from all routes.

This is a Monday to Friday position and the hours will be 08.30am to 1.30pm.

We are looking for a reliable, kind, caring Nanny who can look after this lovely little baby age 3 months.

The ideal person will  have extensive experience with newborns and first years,  with a genuine love of working with children.

The family live in a rural location in a large country house so a car driver with own transport is a must.

Non smoker only.

Someone who is happy feeding baby, settling for naps, taking baby in pram/buggy for walks and generally providing the best possible care at all times.

Childcare qualifications would be preferable, however a super experienced, fully referenced Nanny would be considered.

Start date will be April 2024.
