We are looking for a couple to work approx 25 hours a week combined to cover a variety of duties as follows:

  • House minding when the family are away

The position will oversee the estates, grounds and maintenance efforts across the group of business to include but not limited to the building, landscapes, vehicles, offices and custodial maintenance activities, to resolve problems directly or organising the swift resolution with third parties. Full Time Head Groundsperson / Gardener required by private, country Estate located 5 miles South of Bishops Stortford, Essex, with easy access from A120 and M11.

The Estate is set within 45 acres of beautiful parkland just outside the village of Hatfield Broad Oak.

This is an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable, hardworking person to manage and improve the Estate grounds, working closely with the Estate Manager.

The successful candidate will have previously been involved in all aspects of parkland maintenance,  and will also have some gardening experience with good horticultural knowledge.  Previous Estate work would be an advantage and preferred.

Someone practical with good mechanical knowledge essential with the ability to use large garden machinery, tractors, ATVs etc,  to maintain large areas of lawn to the highest standard.

This is a hands on position, however a proven track record in a leadership role would be advantageous.

Hours will be 40 per week – 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday with the occasional weekends if required.

DBS and NDA will be required as well as fully checkable references.

A rare opportunity has arisen for someone to join a team on a large, private Estate located 11 miles South of Newmarket and 2 miles from Wickhambrook, Suffolk.

The position will be 5 days a week, which will include weekend work on occasions.

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic person to join the established team,  where duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:-

  • Driving duties
  • General Household Maintenance
  • General Repairs and Maintenance for the Estate properties
  • Keeping the cars in very good condition including organising services, MOTs, fuelling and maintenance
  • Supervising the swimming pool maintenance
  • Handyperson and caretaking duties
  • Looking after the cellars
  • Working for the housebuilding company on occasions
  • Providing support to the arable enterprise on the farm where required – tractor driving and carting, harvesting operations, grass cutting and tree maintenance. Training, where required will be provided.
  • Assisting the Game Keeper when required.

The Person:-

  • Reliable, punctual with an excellent work ethic
  • Polite and well presented
  • A good team player
  • Experienced with general maintenance and handy person duties
  • A car driver with a clean licence
  • Experienced in the use of large garden machinery and able to carry out grass cutting of large areas
  • Agriculturally experienced and able to drive a tractor.
  • Will live locally -no more than 40 minutes from the Estate
  • Experienced with Estate work preferred.

Couple required for private household located approx. 9 miles South of Reading, Berkshire.

The couple will be required to cover a variety of duties, which will include – Housework, Gardening, Driving, Security, Caretaking duties and Companionship within a large private country house. The previous couple retiring after 20 years with the family.

This is not an isolated position as there are other staff members employed on a part time basis.

We are looking for a really reliable, trustworthy couple who can literally do what is required and when to assist the clients. This is a live in position and a self contained apartment will be offered along with a salary to be agreed.

The starting hours will be approx 40-60 per week (combined) however this could increase if time needed to cover busy days/weeks. The hours will include weekend days as necessary and days off in lieu will be offered. The family have a house in London so are away some of the time, however they always like to have the live in couple on site. One person will be paid a full time salary and the other on an hourly basis.

The main requirement is that the successful couple are friendly and easy to get along with. People with genuinely kind, helpful natures essential. Must be patient and happy to make this mature husband and wife’s life as easy as possible.

Someone who can cook on occasions, shop and run errands for the family and enjoy the variety this job offers.

There are 2 little shetland ponies and chickens who occasionally need looking after ( checking and making sure they have feed and water etc ) A horse person would be an advantage.

Full Time Senior Gardener required for private garden within a large country Estate located in the most stunning location on the Essex/Suffolk border (AONB).

We are seeking a skilled gardener who will be responsible for maintaining the gardens and grounds of a large 15th century country house. This is a hands on role that requires a strong knowledge of garden maintenance and horticulture. RHS qualifications would be preferred, however a gardener with extensive horticultural knowledge and experience would be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, create and maintain the garden
  • Carry out all lawn care, such as mowing, strimming, edging etc
  • Plant, cultivate and care for flowers, trees, shrubs and other plants
  • Maintain the drive and keep parkland tidy
  • Implement appropriate pest control
  • Operate large garden machinery such as ride on mower, strimmer, hedge cutter etc
  • Train and supervise other staff members as required
  • Maintain accurate records of garden activities

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in garden maintenance or landscape management
  • Extensive horticultural knowledge
  • Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools
  • Strong understanding of irrigation systems
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour in various weather conditions
  • A polite, well mannered and easy to get along with personality
  • Driving licence
