Full Time Head Gardener required for private country Estate located near Sandy Bedfordshire.

The Estate comprises large scale equestrian facilities and a Groundsman is also employed.

The Head Gardener will be required to look after the private formal gardens which are approx 6 acres. Also must be willing to assist the groundsman around the Estate when necessary.

Use of large garden machinery ( ride on mower, strimmer, chain saw, hedge cutters etc)

The gardens include :-

  • Formal borders
  • Cutting Garden
  • Greenhouse
  • Vegetable garden
  • Formal lawns
  • Hedges
  • Fruit Trees
  • Leisure areas around the pool and tennis court.

Horticultural qualifications would be an advantage for this role however a very experienced gardener with excellent plant knowledge would be considered.

Hours will be Monday to Friday – 7.30/8am to 5/5.30 pm

Must have full, clean driving licence as van will be supplied.

Uniform ,mobile phone and pension will also be supplied.

The ideal person will be reliable with a very good work ethic. Be able to take instruction and work well within a small established team.

Understanding the demands of the role essential and must be fully experienced in both agricultural and domestic pest control.

The family have a dog who may need walking occasionally

Hours required are       7am to 11am    Monday to Saturday

3pm to 8pm     Monday to Friday

 

During holidays weekends will be free and the house much quieter.
