We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy person to assist an elderly couple with shopping and preparing meals and possibly light duties within the house.

A good cook is essential who can provide healthy, delicious evening meals and sometimes lunches which can be eaten the next day.

This would suit a kind, caring person who is lovely to have around.

There is no personal care involved just help with preparing supper, changing the bed and some ironing.

The ideal person will be able to come in perhaps 3 or 4 afternoons a week for 2/3 hours each time maybe less to start with. This will also enable one of them to have some time away from the house, knowing that their other half is safe and not alone. One has early Alzheimers but both are physically fit and well. At other times company for both of them would be great – a different person to chat too!

Hours:

  • 3.30pm to 6pm  or 3-5.30pm.

Days:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday and possibly Friday

The person must be reliable, kind and have the most genuinely caring nature,  preferably with experience and /or an understanding of Alzheimer’s although this is not essential.

Requirements:

  • To form a good link with the husband and other family members to plan the visits
  • Someone who can offer more hours in the future
  • If the husband is ill, someone who can offer some extra help
  • Shopping, Preparing and serving evening meals
  • Making coffee and teas

We are looking for someone who can help manage the yard of 6 horses, including 3 hunters and 3 ponies, to a high standard. The successful applicant will be working alongside the family’s long standing groom who has been with them for the last 8 years.

The family hunt and compete in local shows so the groom will be required to help with clipping, plaiting and turn out. The chance to compete is there if the person is keen too.

The yard is beautiful and is kept tidy and clean at all times. All yard duties will be required including mucking out, feeding, tack cleaning, turning out and bringing in from the field, exercising, sweeping the yard and adjoining areas.

Someone who can spot injury or illness essential.

A good, experienced rider essential to hack, school and maintain fitness of all horses. the person must be light enough to ride 13.2 ponies.

The hours will be:

  • 2-3 Mornings or Afternoons a week (whichever is preferred) plus 1 weekend a month and 1 Saturday a month if possible to allow current groom to take a weekend off.

Someone with an HGV licence would be a great advantage but is not a deal breaker, however a car driver with own transport is a must.
