Full Time, experienced House Manager required for private household located in the beautiful North Norfolk countryside.

The successful person will be responsible for overseeing the general operations and smooth running of the home.

Excellent communication skills essential and the ability to read the family’s requirements in advance. There is an established housekeeping team with whom the House Manager will share the duties in the house.

Regular liaising with the Principal’s PA will be required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that the household is always represented to the highest standard, providing a warm welcome for the family and all other visitors.

Maintenance:

  • Inspecting the house regularly for leaks, pests, faulty light bulbs, taps etc.
  • Minor maintenance jobs such as watering the tubs and pots around the house and grounds
  • At the Principals, request overseeing the visits of some contractors, trades people etc keeping a list of visits and timings.

Security, Health and Safety:

  • Overseeing day to day security and presentation of the house including opening and closing for the day.
  • Liaising with Office Manager to make sure that compliance matters are adhered to, including health and safety checks, fire extinguisher servicing etc
  • Scheduling routine maintenance and repair work with property maintenance manager.
  • Maintain security when Principals are away by staying overnight in the house when possible.

A driver with a clean licence is essential and the ability to drive both manual and automatic cars as school runs will be required on a rota basis.

The successful person must like children and dogs and be friendly, with a good work ethic. An understanding of the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality is a great importance.

  • Assisting the Gamekeeper in running the shoot where appropriate including working on shoot days
  • Keeping the farmyard buildings tidy and in good repair, including painting when required
  • Keeping the farmyards swept
  • Cleaning and general maintenance of farm vehicles and equipment
  • Helping with the contracted arable operation – harvest – margin establishment – game cover – drilling
  • Estate security
  • Responsible for one / two other team members – allocation of tasks / time management / supervision

You should ideally be proficient in all tasks or be prepared to undertake training. Good record keeping skills are essential and you should possess good computer skills/ You should be able to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and other staff employed or sub-contracted. It is vital that you work as part of the Estate team and are willing to undertake other duties when necessary.

Farm Secretary Maternity Contract

Full time farm secretary required on a temporary 12–14-month maternity contract in a busy and varied family run farming business and butchery. Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm.

We are looking for a reliable and organised person able to travel to a rural location 12 miles north of Norwich.

The role would suit someone with farm office experience or knowledge of farming.

The position will include but is not limited to:

  • Use of Sage 50 for all bookkeeping tasks
  • VAT returns monthly.
  • Bacs payment runs.
  • Use of excel.
  • Payroll and timesheet management
  • Dealing with customers (mainly wholesale) over the phone. Full product training will be given but applicants must be comfortable with spending time in a butchery.

Part Time Groom/Rider- Ipswich REF-RR1419

Part time, experienced Groom required for a private, family hunting yard near Ipswich .

The role will be 2-3 hours a day between 12 and 4 pm, Monday -Friday working alongside another groom/ rider and covering her day off. Weekend help would be ideal, in particular on Sundays between October and April although this is not a deal breaker.

The successful applicant must be an experienced rider and photos/ videos of your riding ability will be required upon request. All yard duties will be required including mucking out, grooming, feeding, tack cleaning, turning horses in and out, poo picking and plaiting up.

Lovely family of 4 seeking childcare/general household help throughout the year on a part time basis. Initially the family would love help on a Wednesday-Friday for approximately 18 hours each week although this is open to discussion.

Main Hours:

Ideally approximately 6 hours a day:

  • EITHER spilt shift:  to cover mornings from 7.30am-9.30m and evenings 3- 7pm;
